BREAKING: ASUP Extends Indefinite Strike at Federal Polytechnic Mubi Over Unpaid Pension Contributions

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Mubi Chapter, has announced the continuation of its ongoing strike action following a unanimous decision reached during its congress meeting held on July 21, 2026.

According to a strike bulletin signed by the Chapter’s General Secretary, the union resolved to sustain the industrial action, which began on July 8, 2026, until all outstanding pension contributions owed to its members are fully remitted and credited to their respective accounts.

The union said the decision reflects its determination to ensure that the welfare and statutory rights of its members are protected, insisting that the strike will remain in force until the issue is resolved.

ASUP also commended its members for their resilience, commitment, and steadfastness throughout the industrial action, urging them to remain united in pursuit of their demands.

“Stay strong, stay united. An injury to one is an injury to all; all for one, one for all,” the statement read.

The continued strike means academic activities at the Federal Polytechnic Mubi are expected to remain disrupted until the pension-related concerns raised by the union are addressed by the appropriate authorities.
