ASUP Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Schedules 10th National Conference for September 8–11
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Chapter, has announced September 8 to 11, 2026, as the official dates for its 10th National Conference.
The four-day conference will be held under the theme, “Bridging the Skill Gap Through Innovation, Technology and Human Capital Development for National Transformation.” Organizers have also invited researchers, academics, and professionals to submit papers across a wide range of disciplines.
Areas of interest include Science, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, Health Sciences, Crime and Security Studies, Blue Economy, Language and Communication, as well as Leadership and Management.
The conference organizing committee is chaired by Dr. Abeeb Abideen, with Bukar Mohammed Adamu serving as Secretary.
According to the organizers, the National President of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Comrade Shammah Kpanja, will attend the event as the Special Guest of Honour, while the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, will serve as the Chief Host.
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Reuben Omatayo Akinsola, Director of Affiliation and External Collaboration at Federal Polytechnic Damaturu. Engr. Shettima Umara Ali, Deputy Rector (Academics), is expected to serve as the Lead Paper Presenter.
The conference will be hosted by the Chairman of ASUP, Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Chapter, Dr. Mohammed Nuhu.
The event is expected to attract academics, researchers, policymakers, industry experts, and other stakeholders from across the country to deliberate on innovative strategies for bridging the nation’s skills gap and promoting sustainable national development through technology, innovation, and human capital development.
