Breaking: NYSC Revokes Exclusion Letters for Some Part-Time ND, Full-Time HND Graduates

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reportedly revoked exclusion letters issued to some graduates who obtained their National Diploma (ND) through part-time programmes but later completed their Higher National Diploma (HND) on a full-time basis.

According to verified reports, several affected graduates who were previously issued exclusion letters have now received call-up numbers and have been successfully mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps. Some of them are already participating in the ongoing service year.

Although the development does not yet apply to every affected graduate, as some are still awaiting resolution, it offers renewed hope to others with similar academic backgrounds.

The latest development indicates that graduates who completed their ND through part-time study may now be eligible for NYSC mobilization, provided their HND programme was completed on a full-time basis. However, graduates who obtained both their ND and HND through part-time programmes remain ineligible for mobilization.

The key requirement is that the HND must have been completed on a full-time basis, regardless of whether the ND was obtained through part-time study.

Graduates affected by the previous exclusion policy are advised to contact their institution’s Dean of Student Affairs (DSA) office or NYSC liaison officer for guidance on their mobilization status. Many institutions have reportedly assisted affected graduates with the necessary uploads and corrections required for successful mobilization.

Reports also indicate that several graduates who received exclusion letters in previous years have now been mobilized and are currently serving. Those who have not yet been mobilized are encouraged to follow up with their institutions to verify their records and facilitate any outstanding processes.

The development has brought relief to many polytechnic graduates and signals a positive step toward resolving long-standing mobilization issues for eligible HND graduates. Further updates are expected as more cases are reviewed by the NYSC.
