ASUP Declares Indefinite Strike, Protests Harassment of Members by Management, EFCC
The Academic staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Ado Chapter have embarked on an indefinite strike effective from Wednesday 21st September, 2022.
The union members on Wednesday morning shut down the School gate, preventing vehicular movements to the polytechnic calling on the school management to address their demands.
According to the information gathered, the Union expressed dissatisfaction over the harassment of their members by the Economic and Financial Crimes commission (EFCC) and ICPC.
“Some of our members are being harassed by EFCC, they were profiled and compelled to provide sureties before they were released”
According to ASUP-FPA PRO, Comrade Abel Makinde, all Academic activities will be suspended until the harassment of staff is stopped.
The union also accused the school management of false accusation and threatened to sue for Court injunction against EFCC and ICPC for the persistent harassment of their members.
All academic activities in the polytechnic have been put on hold till further notice. Meanwhile, the school management is yet to react or release any statement regarding the Union demands.

Some Students at the satellite campus received lectures this morning while others were turned back around 1pm on Wednesday.
Reacting to the Strike Action, the President of the Students Union Government said, “At this point, let’s keep our fingers crossed as we hope and pray for quick resolution”
