Federal Polytechnic Oko Wins First Place at ESVARBON 50th Anniversary Quiz, Advances to National Finale in Lagos

Federal Polytechnic Oko has secured first position at the South East regional quiz competition organized by the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria as part of activities marking the board’s 50th anniversary celebration.
The highly competitive hybrid quiz brought together tertiary institutions across the South East offering Estate Management and Valuation. ESVARBON, the federal regulatory authority responsible for overseeing the practice of estate surveying and valuation in Nigeria, organizes the competition to promote academic excellence and professional standards within the discipline.
Each participating institution was represented by two students, with Federal Polytechnic Oko fielding Mr. Nwaneri Gideon Chigozie and Miss Elliot Faith Tonye from the Department of Estate Management. The duo delivered an exceptional performance, outperforming their counterparts from other institutions to emerge overall winners.
The regional contest, held on March 24, 2026, tested participants on core professional knowledge, analytical reasoning, and industry-relevant topics. Federal Polytechnic Oko’s victory not only highlights the academic strength of its students but also reflects the quality of training and mentorship within the institution.
By clinching the top position, the institution has earned the right to represent the South East zone at the grand finale scheduled to take place in Lagos on April 8, 2026, where it will compete against winners from other regions across the country.
This achievement further reinforces the institution’s growing reputation for academic excellence and competitive performance at national platforms. Under the leadership of the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, Federal Polytechnic Oko has continued to record significant milestones in both academic and extracurricular engagements.
The victory at the ESVARBON quiz competition stands as another testament to the institution’s commitment to producing highly skilled graduates and maintaining high standards in professional education, positioning it as a top destination for students seeking quality polytechnic education in Nigeria.
