Federal Polytechnic Ohodo Inaugurates Key Committees to Strengthen Governance and Institutional Efficiency

The Management of Federal Polytechnic Ohodo, Enugu State (FEDPOD), has inaugurated a set of statutory committees as part of strategic efforts to enhance institutional governance, accountability, and administrative effectiveness.

The newly constituted committees include the Promotion and Appraisal Committee for Teaching Staff, Promotion and Appraisal Committee for Non-Teaching Staff, Staff Disciplinary Committee for Senior Staff, Staff Disciplinary Committee for Junior Staff, Polytechnic Investment Committee, Central Appraisal Committee, and the Procurement Committee.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Rector, Dr. Ediri Emmanuel Agada, charged members of the committees to carry out their responsibilities with professionalism, integrity, and fairness. He stressed the importance of adhering strictly to established rules and regulations, while maintaining objectivity and transparency in all decision-making processes.

The Rector further emphasized that the effectiveness of these committees is critical to sustaining institutional growth, improving staff performance evaluation systems, ensuring discipline, and promoting efficient resource management within the Polytechnic.

In his remarks, the Registrar, Dr. Obini Onuchukwu, called on staff members to uphold high standards of discipline and professionalism. He encouraged full cooperation with the committees, noting that collective responsibility and adherence to institutional policies are essential for achieving the Polytechnic’s goals and maintaining a conducive working environment.

The Management congratulated all appointed members and expressed strong confidence in their ability to deliver on their mandates. It reaffirmed its commitment to building a transparent, accountable, and performance-driven institution that meets the demands of modern technical education.

The inauguration marks a significant step toward strengthening internal systems and positioning Federal Polytechnic Ohodo for sustainable development, operational excellence, and improved service delivery.
