Love is a deep care and show of affection for one another, and love is beyond what words alone can explain.
Love is important in everyday life: family, work, school, and, most importantly, relationships and marriage. I don’t know exactly what love is, but here are 10 things love is not.
1. Lying to someone and doing things behind their back is not love.
If you claim to love someone and want them very much in your life, then lying to them always and doing something behind their back is not love.
2. Leaving someone the moment things get difficult is not love.
Love means accepting someone for who they are and just the way they look. Life isn’t always fair to us, which means sometimes things will go well and sometimes things will get more difficult. If you leave them the moment things get difficult in their life, that is not love.
3. Saying something and not backing it up with actions is not love.
Love is not just saying “I love you,” but backing it up with actions. If you love them, show it; if you really care, then prove it. Saying you love someone without it reflecting in your actions isn’t love.
4. Not checking up on someone the entire day because you’re too busy is not love.
Nobody is too busy for who they’re in love with. If you say you love me and you don’t care to check up on me the entire day, that isn’t love. If you truly love someone, as you claim, then taking just a minute of your time to say “hello” isn’t a big request.
5. Controlling someone’s life is not love.
We’re in a relationship, not a bondage. If you have been controlling someone’s life and always want them to do your will and obey your commands, that is not love. If you love someone, as you say, you should respect their opinion and thoughts and give them their space when the need arises. If you have been controlling his or her life, please note that this isn’t love.
6. Telling someone they deserve better and giving up on them is not love.
A relationship is not about trying to make things perfect because there are no perfect relationships, but about finding someone who matches you, will accept the worst of you, and will go through everything without giving up on you. When you love someone, you should show them that giving up is the last option for you and try to settle every difference amicably. Telling them that they deserve better and giving up on the relationship so soon isn’t love.
7. Cheating on someone is not love.
Cheating on someone is not love. Put yourself in their shoes and feel what they felt. If you genuinely love them, then you must try as much as you can to be faithful and honest with them. If you are cheating on someone, that is not love.

8. Sex is not love.
Pressuring someone to give you sex in exchange for your love is not love. Sex is a product of love, not evidence of love. You could have sex with someone and still not love them, so sex is not love.
9. Love is not “together forever.”
Eventhough we all pray to have everlasting love till death brings us apart, love is not forever, as it could last for a day, a month, a year, or everlasting. The key point here is that love is not guaranteed to last forever. Love is an everyday choice, so when you love, love completely.

10. Love is not unbalanced.
If someone loves you and you don’t love them back but keep pretending, that is not love. Love is not unequal. Each person should be cherished and valued equally. Love does not place one partner above the other. No matter the achievement, qualification, burden, or experience, it’s felt equally.

What does “I love you” mean exactly?
“I love you” means that I accept you for the person that you are, and that I do not wish to change you into someone else. It means that I will love you and stand by you even through the worst of times. It means loving you even when you’re in a bad mood, or too tired to do the things I want to do. It means loving you when you’re down, not just when you’re fun to be with.
‘I love you’ means that I know your deepest secrets and do not judge you for them, asking in return that you do not judge me for mine. It means that I care enough to fight for what we have and that I love you enough not to let go.
In summary, I love you means thinking of you, dreaming of you, wanting and needing you constantly, and hoping you feel the way for me.
