SLUK SUG Hosts First-Ever Cultural Display to Promote Unity and Diversity on Campus

The Students’ Union Government of Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, has successfully hosted its first-ever cultural display at the university’s convocation arena, marking a historic moment in student leadership and cultural celebration.
The event, led by the SUG President, Comrade Muhsen Aliyu Saleh, was organized to promote unity, inclusiveness, and mutual understanding among students from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds within the university community.
The cultural showcase featured vibrant representations from major Nigerian ethnic groups, including Hausa, Igbo, Fulani, Kanuri, and Yoruba cultures. Each group displayed its unique traditional attire, language expressions, music, and cultural performances, creating an atmosphere of pride, identity, and celebration.
The programme attracted the presence of key university officials and traditional leaders, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Umar Faruk; the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Professor Abba Auwalu; Professor Umma Abdulwahid; the Hakimin Kafin Hausa; members of the Presidential Forum; and other distinguished guests.
The colourful performances captivated students, staff, and invited guests, reinforcing the importance of cultural diversity as a foundation for peaceful coexistence and academic harmony within the university environment.
The maiden cultural display was widely regarded as a major success, entertaining the campus community and strengthening bonds among students while reflecting the Students’ Union Government’s commitment to inclusive leadership and cultural development.
