Shun unhealthy Rivalry and Embrace Synergy…Alake charges Engineers

The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Engr. Dr. T. J. Alake, has challenged all relevant stakeholders in the economy to shun unhealthy rivalry and separatism and embrace synergy in order to surmount the current challenges facing the global cashless policy through scientific, engineering and technological innovations in order to bring about a cashless society which will ensure easy accessibility, affordability and security of individuals’ funds and financial transactions.
The Rector stated this while delivering the Lead Paper at the 5th edition of the Annual International Conference (SAINCONF 2023) on Engineering and Innovation Technology organized by the School Of Engineering Technology’s Research Innovation and Development Committee (SETRIDC), The Federal Polytechic, Ede, Osun State, on 3rd October, 2023, on the theme: Surmounting The Challenges Of Global Cashless Policy Through Scientific, Engineering and Technological Innovations
Engr. Dr. Alake opined that government at all levels, the academia and the private sector have crucial roles to play at surmounting the myriads of challenges confronting the present cashless society which include but not limited to social, technical, infrasturctural, legal, and security challenges.
He further suggested the way forward in enhancing the policy and surmounting the challenges through development of Advanced Encryption Techniques, Biometric Authentication Systems, Cyber Security Measures and development of efficient Telecommunications Networks.
Dr. Alake further advocated for Improved Internet Connectivity and the deployment of Mobile Banking Systems; development of Anonymization Techniques, Secured Data Processing Protocols, and enhanced Privacy Controls for Individuals; AI-Powered Predictive Analytics and the development of smart infrastructures.
In his address, Engr. Isaac Adeyemi Adekanye who also spoke on the same topic further corroborated the submissions of Dr. Alake noting that Technological Innovations is the bedrock of development as no society can ever develop without it.
Dr. Sai Musa Yahaya, the Host Rector in his opening remarks appreciated the guest speakers for their presence and acceptance to speak at the occasion. He encouraged participants to avail themselves of the knowledge and recommendations which will be shared during the Conference.
Other guests at the occasion include the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Oyo State, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed and the keynote speaker, Engr. Isaac Adeyemi Adekanye.
