Federal Polytechnic Oko Rector Receives Official Invitation to 2026 Students’ Week Celebration

The Management of Federal Polytechnic Oko has reaffirmed its support for student-centered activities following a courtesy visit by the institution’s Students’ Union Government (SUG) leadership ahead of the 2026 Students’ Week celebration.

The student delegation, led by SUG President Anuluonye Ifechukwu Joseph and Vice President Nweke Kosorachi Maryjane, formally visited the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, to present an official invitation for the opening ceremony of the annual event.

Also present during the visit was the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Chibuzo Asomugha, who accompanied the student leaders to the Rector’s office.

The Students’ Week celebration is scheduled to hold from May 25 to May 31, 2026, with the opening ceremony expected to kick off on Tuesday, May 26. Activities lined up for the event are expected to promote unity, interaction, leadership, and active participation among students of the Polytechnic.

Speaking during the visit, the student leaders expressed appreciation to the institution’s Management for maintaining a peaceful and supportive academic environment while also seeking the Rector’s presence at the event.

In her response, the Rector appreciated the gesture by the SUG leadership and praised the students for sustaining a cordial relationship with the institution’s Management. She reiterated the Polytechnic’s commitment to initiatives that contribute positively to student development and campus harmony.

The meeting reflected the growing cooperation between students and Management at the institution as preparations continue for the much-anticipated 2026 Students’ Week celebration.
