AAPOLY Honours Elder Segun Olusanya for Contributions to Institutional Development

Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic has honoured renowned philanthropist and community leader, Elder Segun Olusanya, for his outstanding contributions to the growth and infrastructural development of the institution.
The Management Team and Development Committee of the Polytechnic paid a courtesy visit to Elder Olusanya at his Marina Office in Lagos on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in recognition of his long-standing support for the institution.
The delegation was led by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Mobolaji Onasanya, who described the visit as a demonstration of appreciation for Elder Olusanya’s unwavering commitment to the development of the institution over the years.
Among those present during the visit were the Deputy Rector, Dr. S.T. Akindele; the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Akimat Ogunleye; the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. K.O. Ogunbote; and members of the institution’s Development Committee, including the Chairman, Tpl. Dr. Modupeola Okubena, and the Secretary, Dr. Segun Odunlami.
Also in attendance were Dr. Oluwaseun Onadeko, Secretary to the Management Team, and Mrs. Adetayo of the Directorate of Students’ Affairs.
Speaking during the visit, the Rector commended Elder Olusanya for his historic role as the first major donor to the Polytechnic, noting that his support came at a critical stage when the institution was still striving to establish its infrastructure and academic identity.
Dr. Onasanya particularly acknowledged the donation of the popular Olusanya Building located at the institution’s main campus, describing the facility as one of the most significant infrastructural contributions in the history of the Polytechnic.
According to the Rector, the building, donated in honour of Elder Olusanya’s late mother, Madam Victoria Olusanya, remains a symbol of community partnership and educational advancement within the institution.
The Polytechnic management further praised the philanthropist for his enduring legacy and commitment to supporting educational development, noting that his contributions continue to positively impact students, staff, and the overall growth of the institution.
