OGITECH Revised Academic Calendar 2025/2026: Examination Date, SIWES Schedule & New Session Resumption

The management of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has officially released the revised academic calendar for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic session, providing important updates on lectures, examinations, SIWES commencement, students’ activities, and the start date for the new academic session.
The newly released academic schedule is expected to guide both full-time and evening part-time students on key academic activities throughout the semester. The calendar also gives students adequate preparation time for examinations, registration processes, lecture-free weeks, and industrial training placements.
According to the revised calendar signed by the Acting Registrar, Dr. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson, the second semester officially commenced on Monday, April 13, 2026, with lectures beginning immediately for all students.
The institution disclosed that the Academic Board’s consideration and approval of first semester 2025/2026 results will hold on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Following this, mid-semester tests for all students are scheduled to take place from Monday, May 18 to Friday, May 22, 2026.
OGITECH further announced that the release of first semester examination results is expected on Friday, June 5, 2026, while the institution’s Sports and Rector’s Cup competition will run from Monday, June 1 to Friday, June 12, 2026.
As part of efforts to encourage student engagement and campus activities, the management fixed the Students’ Union and Association Week between Monday, June 15 and Thursday, June 18, 2026. The Sports and Rector’s Cup final is scheduled for Friday, June 19, 2026.
The publication of the second semester examination timetable will commence on Monday, June 22, 2026, while lectures for all students are expected to end on Friday, July 3, 2026.
The institution also approved a lecture-free week from Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 10, 2026, to enable students prepare adequately for examinations.
According to the academic calendar, second semester examinations for all levels will begin on Monday, July 13 and end on Friday, August 7, 2026. The management confirmed that the 2025/2026 academic session will officially end on Friday, August 7, 2026.
Students participating in the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) are expected to commence their industrial training programme on Monday, August 10, 2026.
The institution further revealed that the new 2026/2027 academic session will begin on Monday, September 14, 2026.
Breakdown of OGITECH 2025/2026 Second Semester Academic Activities
The revised calendar shows that lecture activities for all students will last for 10 weeks, making it one of the longest academic engagement periods in the session.
The Sports Competition and Students’ Union/Association activities are expected to run for a total duration of three weeks, while the lecture-free week allocated for examination preparation will last for one week.
The examination period for theory and practical examinations has been fixed for three weeks.
OGITECH Evening Part-Time Students Academic Calendar
The institution also released a separate proposed academic calendar for evening part-time studies for the third semester of the 2025/2026 session.
According to the schedule, the third semester for evening part-time students will commence on Monday, August 10, 2026, with lecture and revision activities beginning the same day.
Publication of the third semester examination timetable is expected on Monday, September 24, 2026, while lecture and revision activities will end on Friday, September 4, 2026.
The examinations for evening part-time students are scheduled to hold from Monday, September 7 to Friday, September 11, 2026, while the third semester will officially end on Friday, September 11, 2026.
Management also confirmed that the new session for evening part-time studies will begin on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The release of the revised academic calendar provides clarity for students, parents, lecturers, and SIWES coordinators regarding major academic activities and deadlines.
Students preparing for examinations now have confirmed dates for lecture completion, revision periods, and examination commencement, while graduating students can also prepare ahead for industrial training and session completion activities.
The revised calendar is also expected to help fresh admission seekers and returning students plan ahead for the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.
