Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Academic Calendar for Second Semester 2025/2026: Resumption Date, Exams, SIWES & Registration Deadlines

The management of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro has officially released the detailed academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session, outlining key dates for the second and third semesters. The update provides students and staff with a clear timeline for lectures, examinations, industrial training, and academic breaks.

According to the approved schedule, the second semester will commence on Sunday, April 12, 2026, with full academic activities beginning on Monday, April 13, 2026. Lectures are expected to run for 13 weeks, ending on Saturday, July 11, 2026, ensuring adequate time for course coverage and continuous assessment.

The publication of the second semester examination timetable has been fixed for Monday, May 11, 2026, giving students early access to plan their reading schedules. Academic activities will then transition into the Students’ Union and Associations Week from Monday, July 13 to Saturday, July 18, 2026, allowing room for student leadership programs and campus engagement.

A lecture-free week will follow from Monday, July 20 to Saturday, July 25, 2026, serving as a revision window ahead of examinations. The second semester examinations, covering both theory and practical components, will run from Monday, July 27 to Saturday, August 15, 2026.

One of the major academic highlights is the Raheem Adisa Oloyo Annual Memorial Lecture, scheduled for Friday, August 14, 2026, which is expected to attract intellectual discussions within the institution.

Students participating in the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme will commence their SIWES program on Monday, August 17, 2026. Script marking will also begin on the same day and continue until Friday, September 4, 2026, followed by School Board result consideration from Monday, September 6 to Friday, September 18, 2026.

Academic staff are expected to proceed on leave from Monday, September 21 to Friday, October 23, 2026, marking the conclusion of major second semester activities.

Meanwhile, the third semester is scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 30, 2026, with lectures starting on Monday, August 31, 2026. The lecture period will last six weeks, ending on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Examinations for the semester will take place from Monday, October 12 to Saturday, October 18, 2026, effectively rounding off the academic session.

The structured calendar reflects the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, timely assessments, and effective coordination of teaching and administrative activities.
