Kano State Polytechnic Mgt. Hands Over Sites to Contactors for New Project

The management of Kano State Polytechnic under the able leadership of the Rector, Associate Prof. Kabir Bello Dungurawa had today Thursday, 9th November, 2023 handed over two sites for the construction of new projects in the Institution.

Speaking during the event, the Rector who was represented by the Deputy Director, Physical Planning, Arch. Alfa Namadi Sharif stated that the projects mean a lot to the Institution and must be delivered within the specifications and time frame. He reiterated that the Institution is committed to providing the institution with standard projects, hence the committee on Projects Monitoring and Evaluation was constituted 3 years ago. The committee is headed by the Rector and was given the mandate to supervise the execution of projects in the Institution right from foundation to the competition level.

He urged the Contractors to imbibe standard factors as their guiding principles in executing the projects.

In his remarks, the Contractor, Hassan Salisu Sambajo assured the management of the company’s readiness to deliver to the specifications and within the stipulated period. He promised to maintain, respect, and follow the bills, designs, and standards of the projects.

The projects comprise the construction and furnishing of an Academic Block at the School of Management Studies and the construction and furnishing of a students’ hostel at the Gwamai new campus of the Institution. The projects are sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) through the 2022/2023 merged Annual Intervention.

The buildings and the external works are to be undertaken by H.S. Engineering and Construction Company and Alhairi Enterprises Company Limited and are expected to be completed within a maximum of 42 weeks.

The signing and handing over of the contract documents was conducted in the presence of the Projects Consultant, QS Kamaluddeen Muhammad Balarabe, CEO, KAM & PARTNERS LIMITED; QS. Shu’aibu Sa’id; Engr. Auwalu Sunusi; Engr. Dr. Ibrahim Abba, and Kano Poly News Crew.
