Kaduna Polytechnic Explains Delays in NYSC Mobilization for HND full-time Graduates with ND Part-time Highlights Mandatory Requirements

Kaduna Polytechnic has addressed concerns from some prospective corps members over delays in mobilization for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

According to the institution’s management, the delay is not unique to Kaduna Polytechnic but affects many tertiary institutions nationwide, especially those with large graduate populations, due to the extensive verification processes involved.

The Polytechnic identified several factors contributing to the delays:

•  Improper regularization with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
• Errors or incomplete documentation by graduates
• The batch system used by NYSC, which may separate classmates and prevent simultaneous mobilization
• Other unforeseen circumstances beyond the institution’s control

Management clarified that 2024 graduates remain relatively few and are still being processed for upcoming batches. Graduates from previous years who have not yet been mobilized are advised to contact the Institution’s NYSC Desk Officer immediately for guidance and resolution of any outstanding issues.

Dr. Muhammed Tanimu, Registrar of Kaduna Polytechnic, emphasized that clearance from the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) is now compulsory for all prospective corps members before mobilization. Graduates are required to register with NERD and obtain the necessary clearance to avoid further delays.

The Polytechnic appealed to all concerned graduates to exercise patience while ensuring they meet their responsibilities in completing documentation and obtaining necessary clearances.
