Federal Polytechnic Oko Appoints Dr. Obinna Okeke as Director of Medical Services to Strengthen Healthcare Leadership

The Federal Polytechnic Oko has appointed Dr. Obinna Michael Okeke as the new Director of Medical Services, effective 22nd January 2026. The appointment follows a transparent, merit-based selection process conducted by the Polytechnic’s Governing Council under the leadership of Senator Engr. Dr. Barnabas Gemade. Dr. Okeke’s tenure will run for five years, in accordance with the institution’s regulations.
A Chief Consultant and Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, Dr. Okeke brings extensive expertise in medical practice and healthcare management to his new role. His appointment underscores the Polytechnic’s commitment to strengthening its medical services and healthcare delivery for staff, students, and the surrounding community.
The Polytechnic’s Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, officially presented Dr. Okeke with his appointment letter on behalf of the Governing Council Chairman. In response, members of the Polytechnic community, including staff and management, have congratulated him, expressing confidence in his ability to enhance service quality and drive impactful healthcare initiatives at the institution’s Medical Centre.
This leadership transition marks a significant step in advancing the Polytechnic’s healthcare standards, ensuring efficient medical services while supporting the wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors.
