OGITECH Secures ICAN Partnership: Students Set to Graduate as Chartered Accountants

The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has sealed a groundbreaking partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to equip its students and staff with professional accounting certifications.
The collaboration was officially announced during a courtesy visit by ICAN executives to the institution on Monday, August 18, 2025. Speaking at the event, the Rector of OGITECH, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, described the initiative as a step towards raising the academic and professional profile of students. He applauded ICAN’s Catch Them Young program, noting that it will give undergraduates an early advantage in acquiring ICAN certification before graduation.
ICAN Chairman, Dr. Adesina Olufemi Oluropo, commended the institution’s management for prioritizing academic excellence and professional development. He further revealed that students across Accounting and Non-Accounting departments would benefit from examination waivers, reducing the levels required to attain Chartered status.
The partnership is expected to open doors of opportunity for OGITECH students, positioning them for greater career prospects in accounting and finance while also boosting the institution’s reputation for producing industry-ready graduates.
