Federal Polytechnic Nekede SUG Holds Strategic Meeting to Boost Student Leadership and Welfare

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Federal Polytechnic Nekede successfully convened a key strategic meeting with all General Course Representatives (GCRs) and their assistants for both ND and HND students on Monday, 19th January 2026, at the SUG Secretariat.
The meeting, which recorded impressive attendance, served as a vital platform for engagement, orientation, and enhanced collaboration between the Union and course representatives across the institution’s various departments.
Key discussions during the session centered on scholarship opportunities, ongoing and upcoming SUG programs, and a detailed review of the roles and responsibilities of GCRs within the Union’s framework. Students were encouraged to present complaints, suggestions, and innovative ideas aimed at improving student representation and welfare.
The interactive session emphasized accountability, effective communication, teamwork, and the importance of course representatives serving as the primary link between the student body and the Union leadership. Participants left the meeting with renewed commitment to advance the interests of their peers and foster unity within the Polytechnic community.
In a statement, the SUG, through its Directorate of Publicity/Media, commended the discipline, enthusiasm, and cooperation of all participants. The Union reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive leadership, collaborative governance, and proactive engagement aimed at enhancing the welfare and academic experience of all Nekedites.
