Breaking: ATAPOLY ASUP, JAC Calls Off Strike

The Academic Staff Union of polytechnics (ASUP), Abubakar Tatari Ali polytechnic chapter and the Joint Action Committee (JAC) have suspended their warning strike following an agreement reached with the state government on Saturday 30th July 2022.
The Union Confirmed to POLYTV that some of the conditions which resulted in suspending the strike action is that, No single salary of the polytechnic lecturers and Non Teaching staff should be left unattended as assured by the state government.
It stated further that “Promotion implementation should go concurrently with the yearly increment, otherwise JAC cannot accommodate split implementation”
The Union added “All issues associated with 65 years retirement age should be addressed and all outstanding issues such as consequential adjustments, proposed Contributory Pension Scheme and Contributory Health scheme should also be addressed.”
The Joint Action committees while appreciating the Bauchi state governor Sen Abdulkadir Bala Muhammad (Kauran Bauchi) for his positive response, thanked the union members for their cooperation and support during the period of the strike.
