Ospoly Iree Sports Legend Visits Registrar, Honors Pillar of Sports Omo’ba Abiodun Oyedele

In a heartwarming reunion of sports excellence and institutional pride, Mr. Olajide Awodoye, Secretary of the Ospoly Iree Sports Legends group, paid a courtesy visit today to the Registrar of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Omo’ba Abiodun Oyedele Oloyede — widely celebrated as the institution’s “Pillar of Sports.”
The visit took place at the Registrar’s office and marked a nostalgic moment of reflection and recognition. Mr. Awodoye, who captained the institution’s football team that clinched the bronze medal at the maiden West Africa Polytechnic Games (WAPOGA) in 2007 hosted by Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, expressed his appreciation for the Registrar’s continued support for sports development over the years.
Describing Omo’ba Oyedele as a driving force behind the growth of student athletics and a passionate supporter of young talents, Awodoye emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of sportsmanship at Ospoly Iree.
The meeting also symbolized the enduring bond between past athletes and the institution’s leadership, as both men reflected on the role of sports in shaping character, leadership, and unity within the polytechnic community.
