YABATECH Rector Praises Paramilitary Corps for Discipline and Excellence at Passing Out Parade

The Rector of Yaba College of Technology, Dr. I. A. Abdul, has applauded the institution’s Paramilitary Corps for demonstrating exceptional discipline, professionalism, and commitment during their Passing Out Parade ceremony.
The event, which took place at the Dr. Philip Adegbile Sports Complex, attracted college management, staff, and invited guests who witnessed a highly organized and energetic display by the corps. Dr. Abdul served as the Parade Review Officer and expressed deep satisfaction with the overall conduct and precision shown throughout the ceremony.
Addressing the corps, the Rector stated that the parade reflected a strong culture of discipline, responsibility, and dedication, qualities that are essential for effective security administration within tertiary institutions. He noted that the orderly drills, coordinated movements, and level of preparedness displayed were clear indicators of the rigorous training and leadership standards upheld by the unit.
Dr. Abdul commended the corps for maintaining a high sense of duty and resilience, describing them as a vital asset to the college’s internal security framework and a model of structured paramilitary training within the Nigerian higher education system. He emphasized that such formations contribute not only to campus safety but also to national development by instilling values of discipline and civic responsibility in young people.
The Rector further described the ceremony as a remarkable milestone, noting that it held personal significance for him as one of the most impressive parades he had reviewed. According to him, the performance set a benchmark for future Passing Out Parade ceremonies and deserved the highest level of recognition.
He encouraged the graduating members of the Paramilitary Corps to uphold the standards they have been trained with, reminding them that discipline, integrity, and service are lifelong responsibilities that extend beyond the college environment.
The Passing Out Parade reinforced Yaba College of Technology’s commitment to structured student development, security awareness, and leadership training, further strengthening its reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading institutions in academic and institutional excellence.
