JUST IN: MAPOLY Raises Acceptance Fee for 2026/2027 Academic Session to ₦60,000

The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has increased the acceptance fee for newly admitted students for the 2026/2027 academic session, raising it from ₦35,500 to ₦60,000.

The latest adjustment represents an increase of ₦24,500, amounting to nearly a 69% rise compared to the previous fee. The development has sparked mixed reactions among admission seekers and prospective students, many of whom have described the increase as burdensome in view of the current economic realities.

The acceptance fee, which is compulsory for candidates offered provisional admission, confirms a student’s intention to accept the admission offer before proceeding with other registration processes.

Meanwhile, several prospective students have appealed to the management of the institution to reconsider the new fee, citing the prevailing economic hardship in the country. They urged the Polytechnic to reduce the acceptance fee to a more affordable amount, arguing that the increase could make it difficult for many newly admitted candidates to secure their admission despite earning it on merit.

As the admission process progresses, many stakeholders will be watching to see whether the institution responds to the growing appeals from affected students.
