University of Calabar Revised Academic Calendar for 2025/2026 Session

The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has officially released the approved revised academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session, marking important dates for students and staff.

According to the announcement, new students are expected to arrive on Friday, September 26, 2025, while screening and registration will commence on Monday, September 29, 2025. Returning students are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, with registration following on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Lectures for all students will kick off on Thursday, October 2, 2025, followed by the solemn assembly on Monday, October 6, 2025. The university has also fixed October 27–31, 2025, for supplementary examinations.

In November 2025, students will take their summer examinations from November 3–7, while late registration begins on November 10. Freshers’ orientation is scheduled for November 11–14, with matriculation taking place on Friday, November 21. Continuous assessment exercises will run from November 24–28, 2025.

December brings Students’ Week from December 8–12 and marks the start of the Christmas break on December 19.

Students are expected back on January 9, 2026, for revision, which will run from January 19–24, followed by GSS exams scheduled for January 26–31. Other exams will begin on February 2, and all exams will end on February 26.

The semester officially ends on Friday, February 26, 2026. Overall, the semester will span 16 weeks, consisting of 12 weeks of lectures and four weeks of examinations.
