The Students’ Union Government (SUG) President of the Institute of Management and Professional Studies (IMAP), Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, Ibrahim Ukasha, has paid a heartfelt tribute to a late lecturer whose burial took place on Thursday.
Ukasha, who led a delegation of IMAP students to the burial ceremony, described the late academic as a dedicated educator, mentor and a source of inspiration to many students throughout his years of service.
Speaking after the burial, the SUG President said it was a solemn moment for the entire IMAP community as students, colleagues, family members and well-wishers gathered to bid the lecturer a final farewell.
He noted that the deceased was widely respected for his commitment to teaching, his friendly relationship with students and his willingness to guide young people beyond the classroom.
According to him, the late lecturer’s passion for education and his positive impact on students’ academic and personal development will remain unforgettable in the hearts of those who had the opportunity to learn from him.
Ukasha added that leading the students to the burial was both an honour and a painful responsibility, as the institution has lost not only an experienced lecturer but also a mentor who dedicated his life to shaping future leaders.
He expressed appreciation to everyone who joined in paying their last respects, saying the large turnout reflected the love, respect and admiration the late lecturer earned during his lifetime.
The SUG President also extended condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and the entire academic community, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
He further prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, asking that his legacy of dedication, integrity and service to humanity continues to inspire both students and members of staff.
The burial ceremony was marked by moments of reflection and prayers as those in attendance celebrated the life and contributions of the late lecturer. Friends, students and associates remembered him for his humility, kindness and unwavering commitment to education.
In his closing tribute, Ibrahim Ukasha described the deceased as “a leader, mentor, lecturer and father figure to many,” praying that his gentle soul rests in perfect peace while encouraging members of the institution to uphold the values and principles he lived for.
