Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic Kazaure Graduates Seek Urgent Intervention Over Alleged Accreditation Crisis

Graduates of Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, Jigawa State, have appealed to the Federal Government, relevant education authorities, and student bodies to urgently intervene over an alleged accreditation issue affecting several academic programmes in the institution.
The affected graduates alleged that they were admitted into programmes that were not properly accredited at the time of their admission, a development they said has prevented many of them from participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme despite successfully completing their studies.
According to the graduates, they enrolled in the affected programmes in good faith, fulfilled all academic requirements, and graduated successfully, only to discover that the accreditation status of their courses had become a major obstacle to their mobilisation for the mandatory one-year national service.
The programmes reportedly affected include Urban and Regional Planning (URP), Accounting, Statistics, and Library and Information Science (LIS).
In a statement made available to the press, the graduates described themselves as innocent victims of circumstances beyond their control, stressing that they should not be made to suffer for administrative shortcomings.
They appealed to the relevant authorities to urgently resolve the accreditation challenges and ensure that justice is done for all affected graduates whose academic and career progression has been put on hold.
The graduates also expressed concern over what they described as the institution’s failure to address the issue with the urgency it deserves, insisting that the welfare and future of students should remain a top priority.
According to them, admitting students into programmes without proper accreditation has left many graduates uncertain about their future, despite investing years of study and financial resources to obtain their qualifications.
They maintained that their campaign is not intended to tarnish the image of Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, but rather to draw public attention to the challenges they are facing and to encourage swift action by the institution and regulatory authorities.
The affected graduates further called on the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the Federal Ministry of Education, and other relevant stakeholders to intervene and facilitate a lasting solution.
They urged the management of the institution to provide clear information on the accreditation status of the affected programmes and take immediate steps to resolve the issue to enable qualified graduates to participate in the NYSC scheme.
As of the time of filing this report, the management of Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, had not issued an official response to the allegations raised by the affected graduates.
