Federal Polytechnic Offa Announces Admission into HND Full-Time, ODFEL and ND Part-Time Programmes for 2026/2027 Academic Session

The management of Federal Polytechnic Offa has officially announced the commencement of admissions into its Higher National Diploma (HND) Full-Time and National Diploma (ND) Part-Time programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. Interested and suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for admission into various schools and departments across the institution.

According to the admission notice released by the Office of the Registrar, the programmes are designed to provide quality technical and vocational education for students seeking advanced academic and professional qualifications.

HND Full-Time Programmes Available

The Polytechnic stated that the HND Full-Time programmes will run for two academic years and will lead to the award of Higher National Diploma certificates.

Admission Requirements for HND Full-Time Programmes

Candidates applying for HND programmes must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. Applicants must possess National Diploma (ND) or National Innovative Diploma (NID) in the relevant programme from accredited institutions with at least Lower Credit classification.
  2. Candidates must possess five credit passes in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings in SSCE, GCE O’Level, NECO, or NABTEB examinations.
  3. Holders of National Technical Certificate (NTC) or National Business Certificate (NBC) must possess credit passes in trade subjects and four relevant academic subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
  4. Applicants are required to have completed one year Industrial Training (IT) after obtaining their ND certificate.
  5. Candidates with Pass grade at ND/NID level are eligible to apply if they possess a minimum of two years post-industrial training experience.

The Polytechnic also directed all HND applicants who obtained their ND certificates from other institutions to forward copies of their ND transcripts to the Registrar within eight weeks from the date of the advertisement.

All candidates are expected to write their names exactly as they appear on their certificates and National Identification Number (NIN).

ND Part-Time Programmes Available

The institution also announced admission into National Diploma Part-Time programmes which will run for two years consisting of four semesters.

Entry Requirements for ND Part-Time Programmes

Applicants seeking admission into ND Part-Time programmes must possess:

  • Five credit passes in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics in SSCE, GCE O’Level, NECO, or NABTEB at not more than two sittings.
  • Holders of National Technical Certificate (NTC) or National Business Certificate (NBC) must have credit passes in a trade subject plus four relevant academic subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

ODFEL ND Programmes Also Open

Federal Polytechnic Offa further announced admissions into its Open, Distance and Flexible e-Learning (ODFeL) National Diploma programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The institution described the ODFeL initiative as an NBTE-approved education model designed to make learning more accessible and flexible for working professionals and candidates who cannot attend regular classroom activities.

ODFeL Entry Requirements

Applicants for ODFeL programmes must possess:

  • Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings in SSCE, GCE O’Level, NECO, or NABTEB.

Alternatively:

  • National Technical Certificate (NTC) or National Business Certificate (NBC) with credit passes in a trade subject and four relevant academic subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

Flexible UTME Requirements for ODFeL Candidates

The Polytechnic explained that the following categories of applicants are eligible for ODFeL admission:

  • Candidates who could not sit for UTME.
  • Candidates who sat for UTME but scored below the national cut-off mark.
  • Students seeking inter-polytechnic transfer into ODFeL programmes.

The institution noted that the application process for ODFeL programmes is the same as the ND Part-Time admission process.

Method of Application for ND Part-Time and ODFeL Programmes

Candidates are advised to follow these steps carefully:

  1. Visit any JAMB office to complete the procedure for “Application for Admission of Part-Time Programmes” into Federal Polytechnic Offa.
  2. Pay a fee of Three Thousand Five Hundred Naira (₦3,500) to JAMB to obtain a registration number.
  3. Proceed to the Polytechnic admission portal to pay a processing fee of Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦15,000) only and complete the application form.

The institution warned that any candidate who fails to follow the approved admission procedures through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) will not be offered admission.

Applicants are also required to upload scanned copies of their certificates and other necessary documents online.

All candidates must have an active personal email address.

Method of Application for HND Full-Time Programmes

Candidates applying for HND Full-Time admission are required to visit the Polytechnic admission portal and pay an application fee of Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦15,000) only before completing the application process.

Applicants are also expected to fill the Polytechnic security form online, print the screening slip and security form, and submit the documents personally at the Polytechnic Security Office.

Online Screening Procedure

The Polytechnic instructed all applicants to:

  • Write their names correctly in full.
  • Ensure names match their certificates and NIN details.
  • Upload all required credentials on the admission portal.

The management warned that false information or wrong data entry will lead to automatic disqualification at any stage of the admission process.

The institution also stressed that successful candidates will undergo verification of their certificates.

Application Deadline

Federal Polytechnic Offa announced that application forms for ND Part-Time programmes will be available on the Polytechnic portal for eight weeks from the date of publication of the advertisement.

Candidates are advised to visit the official Polytechnic portal regularly for further guidelines and admission updates.
