National Convention 2026: NANC Holds High-Level Congress Meeting, Unveils Plans and New Committees
NANC Inaugurates Key Committees, Announces Major Resolutions at Extraordinary National Congress

The National Association of Nigerian Comrades (NANC) has unveiled a series of major resolutions and newly constituted committees following its Extraordinary National Congress held at the National Headquarters on May 23, 2026.
The congress, which brought together delegates from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), focused on strengthening the organization’s structure, promoting grassroots mobilization, and advancing national development through progressive activism.
According to the communiqué issued after the congress, the gathering was coordinated by the Independent Convention Planning Committee (I-CPC), chaired by National Comrade Sanni Yusuf Olatunji, popularly known as Aluta Poet, while Comrade Olalere Folorunsho (Aluta King) served as Secretary.
The sessions reportedly commenced with prayers and the rendition of the Aluta Anthem before delegates engaged in extensive deliberations on the current state and future direction of the organization.
Major Resolutions Reached
After exhaustive discussions, the congress unanimously approved several key resolutions, including:
• A comprehensive constitutional review to align the organization with present realities and strengthen institutional governance.
• Approval of synchronized zonal and state activities aimed at improving grassroots mobilization nationwide.
• Ratification of new structural frameworks to enhance operations from the national headquarters down to local chapters.
• A directive for the leadership to fast-track the official corporate registration of the organization with relevant authorities.
Committees Inaugurated
To ensure immediate implementation of the resolutions, the congress inaugurated strategic committees.
The Communiqué Committee is chaired by Comrade Ahmad Jamiu, with Comrade Ayanwale Toheeb serving as Secretary and Comrade Ige Deborah as Member.
Similarly, the Electoral Committee includes Comrade Saheed Abdulfatai, Comrade Ahmad Jamiu, and Comrade Olalere Folorunsho (Aluta King) as members.
The motions for the formation and composition of the committees were overwhelmingly adopted by delegates present at the congress.
In its concluding remarks, the congress emphasized unity, solidarity, and progressive action, reaffirming NANC’s commitment to promoting the welfare of its members and contributing positively to national development.
