MAPOLY: NANS Insists No Going back on Protest as Management Slashes Registration Fees

The National Association of Nigerian students (NANS), Ogun state axis has said that there is no going back on its planned protest for Monday 17th October, 2022.
The Union is calling for the total removal of the registration #20,000 registration added to the school portal as well the reintroduction of 60-40 payment option.
NANS JCC chairman, Comrade Damilola Kehinde said the polytechnic gate will be shut down on Monday calling on all maipates to join the peaceful demonstration to compel the school management to meet their demands.
The student body wants the school management to announce a date to conduct student union elections and improve the welfare of the polytechnic students.

Meanwhile the school management has announced the reduction of the said registration fees by 50 percent, according to a statement released by the polytechnic P.R.O which in part reads:
“The Governing Council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta has approved reduction of registration fee payable by newly admitted students of the Institution by fifty percent…
“By this decision, the Council is optimistic of an uninterrupted ongoing examination and academic calendar. All newly admitted applicants are to commence their registrations immediately ahead of resumption of the 2022/2023 academic session.”
