NAPS Visits OKO POLY, Applauds Rector for Accreditation of New and Existing Programmes

As part of the policy initiatives of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) led by President Asiegbu Kingsley Chinonso, the NAPS President and his Team paid a visit to the Rector,  Federal Polytechnic Oko, Engr. Mrs. Francisca Unoma Nwafulgo at the Polytechnic Main Campus. 

The association led by the National President, President Asiegbu Kingsley Chinonso, was at the polytechnic during the South East Campus Tour.

Briefing an audience that comprised the Rector and his management team on the one hand, and the Students on the other, the group declared its readiness and the quest to have a better NAPS and also briefed the body’s activities since inception.

NAPS commended the Rector on the well-paved roads in the extension site which makes the polytechnic pliable for transport service and also poured encomiums on the Rector and the Alumni for their giant strides in the polytechnic

Similarly, the group praised the Rector for being one of the Best Head of Polytechnic in Nigeria in the area of infrastructure as many departments have been introduced and others accredited fully as witnessed, Staff Welfare, and deployment of technology, promising to partner with him in this administration.

NAPS appealed to the School Management to find a way of separating the Polytechnic Students and the Non-Academics Students as many non-students are committing atrocities that students always pay for unknowingly and further informed the rector to always lend her voice on the Issue of Dichotomy in Nigeria Educational System.

Responding, the Digital Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko expresses happiness with the visits of President Asiegbu Kingsley and his Team to the Prestigious Polytechnic of the moment.

The rector tasked the NAPS to ensure that the youth’s lifes are being touched through awareness and sensitization. According to her “NAPS must encourage the students out there to be self-reliant and also find a way for the students to be one, and remain in harmony”

“On the issue of securing our students, we are already setting up massive structures which will serve as Hostel for the Students, this will go a long way in helping the Polytechnic students”.

She further promised to consult with her management team to possibly provide an office for the President since the Polytechnic is the NAPS National Secretariat.

In Appreciation the Director of Students Affairs of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Mr. Chioma Nwankwo thanked the NAPS for the wonderful visit and pledged the management support towards the current administration.

On the other hand, The management of the metallurgical Training Institute Onitsha, received a delegation from the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS). The meeting which had the Polytechnic SUG President present focused on strengthening ties by exploring academic partnerships, particularly in the area of bridging the gap between the Institute and the NAPS as the School assures the delegates of their confidence that they will continue to impact positively on their students, in order for them to compete globally with others.

Present at the meeting were the Federal Polytechnic Oko Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Ezekwe Kenneth Chukwudi, and Academic, Mr. Onyegbu Uche, the Polytechnic Registrar, acting Librarian, Okoli Jane Nkeoma the Polytechnic Chief Security Officer, Mr. Kabiru Abdullahi, the Director of Students Affairs of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Mr. Chioma Nwankwo, The Polytechnic P.R.O, Mr. Ibeziako Chijioke, FPO Alumni National president, Nze Henry Chukwukadibia Nnebe, ASUP Chairman, Comr. Igbokwe, Mr. Gabriel, Alumni Financial Secretary who is also a one time former SUG President of the institution.

Others include, Comr. Saad Aboki, NAPS Secretary General Ikeagbunam Innocent
Assistant Secretary General of NAPS Comr. Erinsakin Seun Victor, SSA on Media to the President, Comr. Silas Okolie, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Comr. Samuel uduma SSA to the president, Agulanna Emmanuel Chinemerem, among others.
