EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT JAMB REGULARIZATION

JAMB regularization has been an issue for many students, especially polytechnic and college of education graduates who were admitted outside Jamb caps. This article will provide answers to all problems regarding Jamb regularization.

What Is Jamb Regularization?

Jamb regularization means to make your admission official, that is, the reconciliation of your ND/HND/NCE admission with your institution and Jamb. In other words, “Jamb regularization” means late registration or late application, usually for students who were admitted outside Jamb caps. It is also known as “Application for Late Registration” or “Condonement of Illegal Admission.”  If you were offered admission through a part-time, evening, or weekend program, there are chances that your institution admitted you without Jamb’s knowledge and approval since all admissions are supposed to be through Jamb. So you need to do JAMB regularization for JAMB to recognize your admission.

How Important Is Jamb Regularization?

Jamb regularization is done for you to have a registration number and admission letter, which are very important for direct entry admission and NYSC. Students who have no Jamb registration number will not be mobilized for NYSC after their HND program. Moreso, without this registration number, students will not be able to further their education at the university after their ND, NCE, or HND programs, and HND graduates will not be mobilized for NYSC if they didn’t regularize their admission. This issue has delayed many graduates from applying for NYSC. So it is important that you regularize your admission as soon as possible if you were not admitted through Jamb Caps.

Who Are Those That Need JAMB Regularization?

Students who were admitted outside Jamb are those who need to regularize their admission. That is, daily part-time, part-time, and evening students. This happens in two cases:

CASE1: If you were admitted as a part-time student who did not write UTME to secure admission, you don’t even have a registration number.

CASE2: You wrote the UTME and got admission, but your school didn’t upload your admission on Jamb Caps or inform Jamb about your admission even though you have a registration number.

Do I need Jamb regularization if I studied a full-time program?

No, if you studied your course under the full-time program, that means you were admitted through JAMB, and you are supposed to have a JAMB registration number and admission letter. So you don’t need to do Jamb regularization.

What Is The Deadline For Jamb Regularization?

There is no deadline for Jamb regularization; it can be done at any time, but if I were you, I would get it done as soon as possible, perhaps after your ND/NCE program or during the first year of your HND program. This is because the process sometimes takes a while to be approved or rectified.

How do I know if I need Jamb regularization?

There are two steps involved in determining whether you need to regularize your admission. The first step is for those who wrote the UTME and have a Jamb registration number, while the second step is for those students who didn’t write UTME at all.

If you have a Jamb registration number, you can check if you need to regularize your admission by following these steps:

1. Visit www.jamb.org.ng

 2. Click on the year you wrote your JMB (e.g., 2012).

 3. Click on “Check Admission Status.”

 4. Enter your Jamb number and click enter.

If you get a message showing your details like school, passport, and the course you studied in ND, NCE, or HND, then you don’t need Jamb regularization, but if you get a message like “Sorry, no admission is given yet,” then you need to regularize your admission as soon as possible.

Do I need to do Jamb regularization if I obtained part-time form through JAMB?

No, the students who have Jamb regularization problems are mostly those who got admission outside Jamb. Everything has changed now. Before you can obtain a PT form now, you will be required to create a profile with JAMB in order to print your admission letter. So, if you have done this and you have “JAMB ADMISSION LETTER,” you don’t need Jamb regularization again. However, if you obtained a PT, DPT, RPT, or Weekend PT form and your school didn’t instruct you to create a profile for admission with JAMB, you would have to regularize your admission in the future, probably after your ND, NCE, or HND program.

Thank you 9ja poly TV for this write up, this is exactly what DPT students are facing in federal polytechnic ede, osun state. For instance, majority of us in fed.poly.ede,2019 set has done our jamb regularization since August last year but hasn’t been approved yet by jamb and it’s seriously affecting and giving us headache about our DE admission. Seriously making things futile. And we’ve contacted many sources but no changes. Even for you to know sir, whenever we check our caps, under indemnity form, what we see is that, it hasn’t been uploaded at our institutional level let alone at state jamb office let alone at approval at jamb headquarters in abuja. And when we made complain at sch, they said it’s jamb headquarters delaying.
We are tired and fed up.
Pls sir, I take God beg you, is there any way you can be of help sir.
    Wee are tired.
Abeg, help us tell NANS to fight this for us.
