Ekiti Poly Threatens to Expel Students Involved in Cultism and Indecent Dressing

2022/2023 Matriculation Ceremony at Ekiti State Polytechnic Isan-Ekiti
The management of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti, has issued a strong warning to all students to stay clear of cultism or get expelled, arrested, and persecuted.
The Polytechnic Rector, Professor Adesodun Johnson Kayode, handed down the warning in a speech delivered during the 3rd matriculation ceremony and oath taking for the newly admitted students on Friday at the polytechnic hall.
Prof. Adesodun Johnson Kayode said there is no room for indiscipline and unruly conduct in EKSPOLY. He encouraged the students to dress according to acceptable standards and abide by all the school rules and regulations.
“Associations and groups that register with the Directorate of Students Affairs are permitted to operate in the Polytechnic. Religious and social groups are also accepted as verifiable units for the spiritual and character molding of our students.
“The Polytechnic will not tolerate unregistered religious and social groups on our campus.”
“This Polytechnic does not permit the activities of any anti-social groups on the campus. In particular, membership in cult groups is prohibited, and offenders will be summarily expelled and handed over to security agencies. If you are already in cults, you are advised to renounce and voluntarily present yourself to the Polytechnic for counseling and rehabilitation in your own interest.”
“The Polytechnic has an approved dress code, which was stated in the students’ and staff handbooks. Therefore, wearing tattered or crazy jeans, rubber slippers, or sagging trousers Tattooing of the body, wearing of earrings by males, and hair tainting or coloring, among others, are clearly unacceptable and forbidden on campus and attract serious sanctions.”
“The Polytechnic encourages all students to dress according to acceptable standards, while undue exposure of body parts will be severely sanctioned.”

The newly admitted students
Professor Johnson Kayode stressed that any student who violates the school rules and regulations will be arrested and sanctioned, as members of staff have been advised to prevent improperly dressed students from entering their offices and from attending lectures.
“Discipline is required from you as students; you are therefore expected to exhibit a high sense of discipline within the Polytechnic and outside the Polytechnic community because the Polytechnic will not award its certificates to students who are found wanting in character and learning.”

The Rector admonishes the Newly admitted Students to be discipline and respect the constituted authority.
