Rector Advise Students to be of Good Conduct as Ekiti State Polytechnic Matriculates New Intakes for the 2022/2023 Academic Session

Professor Adesodun Johnson Kayode, Rector, Ekiti State Polytechnic
The Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti, conducted the matriculation ceremony and oath-taking for the newly admitted students of the 2022–2023 academic session on Friday, August 4th, 2023.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Professor Adesodun Johnson Kayode, advised the matriculants to be of good conduct within and outside the polytechnic.
“Discipline is required from you as students, you are therefore expected to exhibit a high sense of discipline within the Polytechnic and outside the Polytechnic community because the Polytechnic will not award its certificates to students who are found wanting in character and learning.
The Rector stated that the polytechnic will not tolerate indecent dressing from any of her students while urging them to dress according to acceptable standards as contained in the student’s handbook.

The Registrar of EKSPOLY, Isan-Ekiti, Mr.J.A.O Olorunsola led the students to take an oath of studentship.
“The Polytechnic has an approved dress code which was stated in the students’ and staff handbooks. Therefore, wearing tattered/crazy jeans, rubber slippers, sagging of trousers, tattooing of body, wearing of earrings by males, hair tainting or colouring among others are clearly unacceptable and forbidden on campus and attract serious sanctions.”
“The Polytechnic encourage all students to dress according to acceptable standards, while undue exposure of body parts will be severely sanctioned.”
Professor Adesodun Johnson Kayode further advised the students to shun cultism, Yahoo Yahoo, and other crimes that may terminate their studentship at the polytechnic.

“This Polytechnic does not permit activities of any anti-social groups on the campus. In particular, membership of cult groups is prohibited; and offenders will be summarily expelled and handed over to security agencies. If you are already in cults, you are advised to renounce and voluntarily present yourself to the Polytechnic for counselling and rehabilitation in your own interest.”
“You are encouraged to register with the Library to qualify you for access into the Library facilities. The Library has both hard and digital materials for your use. Therefore, some on- going Library Intervention Projects being facilitated by Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) to upgrade facilities at the Polytechnic Library will soon be completed and available for your access.
The school management encouraged students to attend lectures regularly and always put on their identity card when coming to the polytechnic campus for security purposes.

“Students are encouraged to attend lectures promptly too. A minimum attendance of 75% is required for you to be allowed into examination halls. Continuous assessment forms the basis of your examination; therefore, this must be taken with all seriousness.”
“The Polytechnic will continue to work round the clock to ensure the security of lives and properties of students and staff within and outside the Campus. However, you are expected to be security conscious throughout your stay in the Polytechnic.”
