IMT Enugu Polytechnic, UNN Hold Historic First Joint Matriculation Ceremony

It marked a major milestone in the advancement of higher education in Enugu State as the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, in collaboration with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, hosted their first-ever joint matriculation ceremony.
The event, held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the IMT International Conference Centre, officially admitted students into the 44th National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), and 8th Degree programmes. The ceremony highlights a significant step toward expanding access to quality education and strengthening academic partnerships within the state.
Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah was represented at the ceremony, where the state government reiterated its commitment to transforming the education sector through strategic collaborations and continuous investment.
Among dignitaries present were Osita Eze, Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, and Princess Obiajulu, alongside business leader Sir Robert O. Anwatu. Also in attendance were the Vice Chancellor of UNN, Simon Uchenna Ortuanya (represented), and the Rector of IMT, Gozie Solomon Ogbodo, among other top academics and newly admitted students.
The joint matriculation underscores a growing synergy between IMT and UNN, reinforcing a shared vision to drive educational excellence, innovation, and human capital development in Enugu State. The initiative also reflects the administration’s ongoing efforts to position education as a key driver of sustainable development.
