OGITECH Rector Praises Volunteer Corps for Enhancing Campus Road Safety

The Rector of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, Abiodun Oluseye, has commended members of the Federal Road Safety Corps Special Marshal for their dedication to promoting road safety and humanitarian service within the institution and its environs.
The commendation came during a courtesy visit by the OGITECH Unit of the Corps to the Rector’s office on April 13, 2026. The visit served as an avenue for the Unit to formally introduce its structure, operations, and safety initiatives to the school management.
During the interaction, the delegation explained that its members are committed to ensuring the safety of road users on and around campus through coordinated traffic control, accident response, and other safety interventions.
Dr. Oluseye, while responding, praised the team for their selflessness and strong sense of duty, noting that their contributions to maintaining order and safety are highly valued by the institution. He also assured them of the school’s continued support to enhance their operations.
Speaking on behalf of the Unit, the Coordinator, Adeola Adelakun, reiterated that the group’s mandate remains strictly humanitarian, emphasizing that members are trained to respond swiftly to emergencies and manage traffic situations before handing over to relevant authorities.
Also speaking, the Unit Assistant Secretary, Adebayo Gbadebo, highlighted the contributions of the Special Marshal Unit to campus safety and appealed for institutional support in facilitating statutory dues to improve operational efficiency.
The meeting ended with both parties expressing readiness to strengthen collaboration aimed at improving road safety within the campus community.
