Dr Ashinya Felicitates With Akperan Orshi Polytechnic Over 27th Matriculation Ceremony

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Wannune, Dr. Tyover Ashinya Dajoh, has congratulated Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev, Gboko, Benue State, on the successful conduct of its 27th Matriculation Ceremony.
Dr. Ashinya, who attended the event as one of the specially invited distinguished guests, described the occasion as more than just an academic exercise, noting that it also provided an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, colleagues, mentors, and mentees.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Federal Polytechnic Wannune Rector commended the staff of the Polytechnic for their commitment and dedication to providing quality technical education to students. He described the matriculating students as future drivers of technological advancement across different sectors of human endeavour.
He also expressed appreciation to the management of the institution under the leadership of Dr. Nicodemus T. Nombor for sustaining academic standards and promoting quality education within the Polytechnic system.
Dr. Ashinya encouraged the newly admitted students to remain proud of their humble beginnings, stressing that determination and hard work could lead them to the peak of their academic and professional careers.
In his address, the Rector of Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Dr. Nicodemus T. Nombor, appreciated the contributions and support of the institution’s 9th Governing Council, management, staff, and students towards the growth and development of the Polytechnic.
He also acknowledged the support of well-meaning individuals and stakeholders who have continued to assist the institution whenever called upon.
Similarly, the Chairman of the 9th Governing Council, Dr. Mrs. Victoria T. Pillah KSJi, congratulated members of the Polytechnic community and expressed optimism that the institution would continue to record developmental achievements as it progresses toward its centenary celebration.
The event also featured a lecture delivered by Dr. Oche Daniel on the topic, “Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) Subclade K,” where he highlighted the causes, preventive measures, and the importance of adopting safe health practices for sustainable living.
Other dignitaries who spoke during the event included the representative of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mrs. Celine Iortyer; the Registrar of Harry Pass Polytechnic, Gboko, Chris Adegbe; the Rector of Fidei Polytechnic Gboko; and Rev. Fr. Michael Dogo, Chaplain of St. Williams Chaplaincy, AOPOLY, Yandev.
The 27th Matriculation Ceremony officially inducted over 627 students into various schools and departments of the Polytechnic.
