Bauchi Police Commissioner Storms Federal Polytechnic After Hostel Attack, Promises Tighter Security

The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, Sani Aliyu, has assured students and staff of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi of improved security following a recent hostel invasion that left two students injured and several valuables stolen.
Commissioner Aliyu visited the institution today, where he was received by the Rector, Alh. Sani Usman, alongside other management staff. His visit comes in response to the incident on Tuesday, 12th August, when miscreants invaded the male hostel, carting away mobile phones, computers, and other personal items.
While commending the Polytechnic’s swift response and continued collaboration with community leaders and security agencies, the Commissioner stressed that the police will intensify surveillance and ensure sustained protection of the campus community.
During the visit, he inspected the affected hostel and reviewed the school’s perimeter security. He pledged stronger cooperation with the institution’s management to prevent a repeat of such criminal activities.
Management of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi expressed appreciation to the police command for its prompt intervention, noting that the Commissioner’s visit reflects a proactive approach to safeguarding students’ lives and property.
The Rector further assured that both visible and strategic security measures have been reinforced as the institution prepares for its reopening on 25th August 2025.
The Polytechnic reiterated its commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for academic excellence, urging students to remain calm and confident in the measures being taken.
