Who is a Broke Man?

A “broke man” is someone who is still struggling to meet ends in life, that is, a man without any money. A broke man may rely on his parents, family, friends, or a job to survive while working hard to become somebody in life. Being broke is not a bad thing, but things can become worse if you add a relationship to your life while still broke. With my definition above, I’m sure you will understand who a broke man is.

People can get broke at some point in life and bounce back to normal, which is different from the case of a broke man because he is still trying to sustain himself. Below are the reasons why a broke man should not go into a relationship.

(1) DISTRACTION.

Being in a relationship as a broke man is a big distraction because you will focus on loving instead of working on how to liberate your life from financial weakness. I understand that love is inevitable, but trust me, money is very important, and relationships can distract you from being focused. The moment you add a woman to your life, you will begin to think about how to satisfy and meet her demands, and this can cause distraction for you. Deal with your brokenness first, then date.

(2) THE RELATIONSHIP WILL BE BORING.

Love is sweet, but money makes it sweeter, so don’t be deceived by love with the hope that she will be happy with you being broke. The relationship will be boring since there is nothing to spice it up. Not every woman demands money from a man, and the fact that she doesn’t demand it from you doesn’t mean that she’s comfortable with you being broke. You have no money for gifts, dinner, to make her hair. If you are a broke man, you still have a long way to go. Adding a woman to your life will make the journey narrow for you, and the relationship will be boring.

(3) HEARTBREAK.

The major thing that broke men offer in a relationship is sex. I learnt that men who are broke are extremely good in bed. A relationship is about productivity, so apart from your big dick, what else do you offer to the relationship? If you continue to give her excuses for being broke, one day she will get tired of you and dump you for another man who can meet her demands because society always wants them to get the latest things. If you don’t want to be left heartbroken, then you shouldn’t be in a relationship as a broke man because she might dump you anytime soon. Forget about love and work on how to liberate yourself from brokenness.

(4) SHE WILL CHEAT ON YOU.

Do you know how many guys that are in her DM every day disturbing her and asking her out? Even if she’s a decent girl, one day she will be convinced to cheat on you because you are broke. From my experience and others’ opinions, I’ve come to realize that broke men are more likely to be cheated on in a relationship. So, you should not go into a relationship. Instead, work on how to be financially buoyant and watch girls chase you. For broke men, the reverse is the case.

If you are a broke man and you care about your respect and ego, you should not go into a relationship because she will disrespect you and even insult you for every single mistake you make. Now think about this: she called you on the phone yesterday, “you no get,” and today, “you no get.” There won’t be respect in the relationship and you won’t have a say because you are broke. I think you should nurture your life first before dreaming of love.

(6) THE LOVE WILL FADE.

Money is not important at the beginning of a relationship, but when the relationship continues to grow, you begin to realize that it may not survive without it. Thus, the love she has for you will continue to fade away with time. Most girls will tell you, “I’m not interested in your money” or “I’m not after your money,” which isn’t true. When the relationship gets going, it is then that you will realize that a broke man shouldn’t be in a relationship. Gone are those days when mothers married for love or dated genuinely. Besides, don’t expect her to marry you for whom you are when you have no shishi with you, or do you think love will pay the bills? What if she gets pregnant? Can you bear the responsibility? These are the things that will reduce her love for you, and eventually the love will fade away. You should get busy with your life and lay your hands on something. You don’t need a relationship for now.

Firstly, before dating a broke man, you should be certain of what you want. If you can tolerate loving a broke man, it’s fine. Besides, this brokenness is not permanent, but there are a few things you should expect when you date a broke man. They are as listed below.

If you are dating a broke man, you should be ready to sacrifice a lot of things for the relationship, including your body. Broke men often make up for their financial weakness with sexual prowess. You may have to sacrifice your money, time, and energy for the relationship.

There is no guarantee of “Together forever” when you date a broke man, and that is the truth. He might dump you at any time when he overcomes his financial weakness. You could buy him clothes, give him your ATM pin, open a business for him, and do all sorts of nice things for him, but he will still trash you when he gets rich. These are things you should expect when you date a broke man. Even if you spend your money on him, he will use it to cheat on you. This happens often, but I pray it doesn’t happen to you.

3. DISCOMFORT.

Probably in your previous relationship, your ex-boyfriend could afford to splash you gifts and take you out for shopping but be ready for discomfort this time around as there won’t be gifts or surprises anymore. There is lots of discomfort with dating a broke man. You may have to manage to sleep in his heated room, bare floor etc.

4. BROKE MEN COMPLAIN TOO MUCH.

Even if you can afford it, he will still complain about your pricey hair, expensive clothes, and makeup.

5. NEGATIVITY ATTITUDE FROM PEOPLE.

When you date a broke man, people may mock you for choosing him especially if you have friends whose boyfriends are rich and takes good care of them, this could cause you depression because your friends may not respect you or him because he is broke and your family may reject him as well.

Is it Good to Date a Broke man?

There is a difference between being broke and being lazy. Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring, so a poor man can become rich and better in the future. Besides, successful men who are rich today were once broke, but a lazy man can never bring anything to the table. If you are dating a man who started his life from scratch, you have to be patient and study him. If he is someone who has a future, then the relationship is worth trying, but if he is a lazy man who doesn’t take his life seriously, you should run away. You can’t afford to spend the rest of your life with a man who does not take his life seriously. Remember, love isn’t blind. Love will not pay house rent, school fees, and feed the family.

Can A Girl Love a Broke Guy?

Yes, there are many women who will genuinely love you and are willing to help you become a better person. Nevertheless, don’t expect a woman to love you for being broke. You should double your hustle, make money, then date.

What should a Broke Man Do?

A broke man, like I said earlier, is a man without money. Someone who can’t afford to take care of himself. Your ability to eat, cloth yourself, look good and get medicine when the need arises and take care of your woman are the things that make you a real man and in the absence of these, you should not think of a relationship at all instead get a job, settle yourself down then date. I’m not saying you should start doing “Yahoo” or other illegal business because of money. No, just try to lay your hands on something productive and get serious with your life. When you begin to notice that you are financially stable, you can now add a woman and build a life together.

What If I’m a student?

There is nothing wrong with dating a student who is broke because he might be a full-time student who has limited time to work. Besides, he might be unlucky to come from a poor home. If you or your boyfriend are a student and completely broke, I think you should both sit down and discuss how to overcome the financial weakness. You can also add a part-time job to your studies, which can help you overcome your brokenness. Gone are those days when students fully depended on their parents for a living. There is no excuse for being broke. During my undergraduate days in school, a friend and I did menial jobs like car wash and catering services to support our academics. So, if you are a broke student, it’s best you focus on your studies and forget about relationships for now. If you must date, make sure that you have a job that brings you money. Relationship without money is boring.
