SOLEMN ASSEMBLY: Take Your Academic Seriously – Rector Tells AkwaPoly Students

The Management, Staff and Students of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua on Thursday gathered to dedicate the year 2023 to God.
The Special Inter-Denominational Solemn Assembly/Thanksgiving Service which took place at the Polytechnic Convocation Ground was organized by the Chapel of Glory Church.
The Rector, Dr. Moses Umobong expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the sustenance of everyone and making them to successfully cross over into a new year. Making reference to the team of the Akwa Ibom State Government “GO FORWARD”, he expressed optimism that the year 2023 will be fruitful to individuals and the institution.
Dr. Moses further admonished the students to take their academic seriously remembering that they’ll be judged in learning and character.
Prayers were offered for the Governing Council, Management,Academic Board, the Institution, Staff, Students, host communities, State and Federal Government.
A minute silence was observed in memory of the Staff and Students who passed away last year.
Some of the top personalities at the event were the Rector, Dr. Moses Umobong, Deputy Rector, Engr. Okon Effiong, Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Mercy Ukpanah, Bursar, Mr. Ekong Ituen, Deputy Registrar/Secretary to Council, Mr. Ini Ebong, ASUP Chairman, Comrade Eteyen Uko, Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments/Units, Academic/Non-academic staff, NANS PRO, Comrade Ekanem Utibe, Students Union Government executives led by the President Comrade Offiong Kofi Asuquo, Parliamentarians, Students, Security Officials, etc.
