Plateau State University (PLASU) Academic Calendar for the 2023/2024 Academic Session

The management of the Plateau State University Bokkos has released the draft academic calendar for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic session.

According to the academic calendar obtained by POLYTV, registration for new and returning students will start on Monday 9th October 2023.

First semester lectures will commence on Monday 16th October 2023.

Orientation for new students: 8th – 10th November 2023.

Matriculation for the newly admitted students: 16th November 2023.

First semester examination will commence on Monday 12th February 2024.

Second semester 2023/2024 academic session will commence on Monday 25th March 2024.

Second semester examination will commence on Monday 8th July 2024.

Below are the details of the academic calendar for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic session.

1	9^th October 2023	Commencement of registration for new and returning students
2	16^th October 2023	Commencement of first semester lectures for all students
3	16^th October – 20^th October 2023	Period of late registration
4	Friday 20^th October 2023	Registration closes 29m for all students.
5	8^th – 10^th November 2023	Orientation for fresh students

6	16^th November 2023	Matriculation
7	23^rd December 2023 – 6^th January 2024	Christmas break
8	3^rd February 2024	End of first semester lectures
9	5^th – 10^th February 2024	Revision week
10	12^th February 2024	First semester examination commences.

11	28^th February 2024	First semester examination ends
12	11^th March 2024	Commencement of industrial attachment
13	12^th – 15^th March 2024	Department and faculty boards meet to consider first semester examination results.
14	20^th March 2024	Examination results scrutiny committee sits.
15	29^th March – 1^st April 2024	Easter Friday / Easter Monday
16	2^nd April 2024	Senate meets to consider and approve first semester examination results.

SECOND SEMESTER

1	25^th March 2024	Commencement of second semester lectures
2	29^th June 2024	End of second semester lectures
3	1^st – 6^th July 2024	Revision week
4	8^th July 2024	Second semester examination
5	24^th July 2024	Second semester examination ends

6	30^th July – 2^nd august 2024	Department and faculty boards meet to consider sessional results.
7	13^th – 16^th august 2024	Examination results scrutiny committee sits.

9	20^th august 2024	Senate meets to consider and approve sessional results (excluding 300level SIWES students)
10	24^th August 2024	End of industrial attachment
11	3^rd September 2024	Department and faculty board meets to consider 300level examination for SIWES candidates.
12	12^th September 2024	Senate considers and approves 300level SIWES candidates.
