Osun Poly Alumni Donate Motorized Borehole to Tackle Campus Water Shortage

A major boost has come to Osun State Polytechnic, Iree as members of its 2001/2002 Higher National Diploma (HND) graduating set have donated a motorized borehole to the institution, aimed at addressing persistent water scarcity on campus.
The initiative, described as a significant intervention, is expected to improve access to clean water for students and staff, enhancing overall welfare and academic productivity within the school community.
Speaking during the inspection of the completed project, the set’s president, Mrs. Jimoh Adejoke, popularly known as Jackie, commended members for their collective effort and commitment to giving back to their alma mater. She emphasized the importance of alumni contributions in supporting institutional development.
Also present at the inspection was the project coordinator, Mr. Rafiu Taoheed, also known as Donna, who highlighted the need for sustainable infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the campus population.
The donation underscores the vital role alumni associations play in complementing government efforts, especially in improving essential facilities such as water supply in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
