Lists of The Polytechnics that Accept Pass Grades (CGPA Below 2.50) for HND Admission

One of the problems of polytechnic education in Nigeria is the inability of ND graduates with pass grades (GPA below 2.50) to proceed for HND admission, as they have to wait for 2 or more years before they can be given admission at the HND level. Some polytechnics also don’t offer admission to candidates with pass grade.

This issue has always been a headache for many poly graduates. In fact, some of the affected students may as well find it difficult to gain direct entry admission to the university because Nigerian universities mostly offer admission to candidates with lower credit and above.

Well, if you’re in this situation, we’re glad to inform you that there are still a few schools that accept passes for HND admission, provided you have two(2) years of industrial work experience. We’ve done our research and can tell you authoritatively that these schools listed below accept pass grades for HND admission.

1. RUFUS GIWA POLYTECHNIC.

Rufus Giwa Polytechnic is in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. This school accepts passes for HND, whether you are their product or from other schools; they will offer you admission provided you meet other entry requirements and pass their entrance examinations. 2. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ILE-OLUJI.

FEDPOLEL commenced their HND programs in 2021. The school accepts pass grade for HND admission. We advise you to check the school website to be sure they offer your course or better still check federal polytechnic Ile-Oluji courses here.

3. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC MUBI.

Federal polytechnic Mubi is located at Mubi in Adamawa state. The school accepts pass grade for HND admission. Perhaps if you are from the northern states or close by. You can apply, and we’re certain that you may be considered for admission. See courses offered in Mubi Poly here.

4. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC IDAH.

Idah Poly is in Kogi State. The polytechnic offers mostly full-time programs and gaining admission with a CGPA below 2.50 is not as difficult as it seems as long as you are a product of Idah Poly. Even if you are not a product of Idah Poly, you may be considered for admission. I’ve seen many students with pass grades being offered admission to the polytechnic. See courses offered in FPI here.

5. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE EKOWE.

Ekowe Poly is located in Bayelsa State. Although the school is slightly expensive, they accept pass grades for HND. We are 100 percent sure of this. See courses offered in FPE here.

6. YABATECH.

YABATECH offers many programs, ranging from ND, HND, and degree, among others. YABATECH’s full-time program requires a minimum of lower credit. However, you can gain admission to YABATECH for HND without stress through their part-time program. If you are interested in the full-time program, you would have to wait for 2 years after your ND to be eligible. See courses offered in YABATECH here.

7. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC BALI.

Federal Polytechnic Bali is located in Taraba State, Nigeria. The school commenced her HND programs years ago, and they accept pass grade for HND admission. With 1 year of industrial training, you may be offered admission to the Federal Polytechnic Bali. See courses offered in FPB here.

8. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC DAMATURU

FEDPODAM is situated in Yobe State. The school accepts pass grade for HND admission. FedpoDam runs full-time programs and part-time programs and accepts pass grades for both. See courses offered in FEDPODAM here.

9.FEDPOLY KAURA.

Fedpoly Kaura Namoda is located in Zamfara State. The school also accepts CGPA below 2.50 for HND admission. Their school fees for all programs are very affordable. See courses offered in FEDPOLY KAURA here.

10. HAFED POLY.

Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic is situated in Jigawa State. The school accepts passes for HND admission. However, candidates must possess two years of industrial training to be considered for admission to the full-time program. See courses offered in HAFED POLY here.

11. WAZIRI UMARU FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC.

WUFPBK is located in Kebbi State. Kebbi Poly accepts pass grade for HND admission too. Their admission is also straightforward because they don’t conduct entrance examinations for applicants. You will be offered admission based on your credentials. See courses offered in WUFPBK here.

12. PTI WARRI.

The Petroleum Training Institute is located in Delta State. The school offers engineering, science, and a few art courses. The polytechnic accepts passes for HND. See courses offered in PTI here.

13. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OKO.

Another school that accepts pass grades for HND is Oko Poly. Oko Poly at times considers their product with two years of I.T. for HND and also candidates from other schools. See courses offered in OKO POLY here.

14. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC NEKEDE.

FPNO rarely accepts passes for their full-time programs, but if you apply for part-time or weekend programs, you will be offered admission with your pass grade. See courses offered in NEKEDE POLY here.

15. EDO STATE POLYTECHNIC.

Edo State Polytechnic accepts passes for HND. You don’t have to wait for 2 years at home; just pick up their HND form and you will be offered admission straight. See courses offered in EDO POLY here.

16. ABDU GUSAU POLYTECHNIC.

Abdu Gusau Polytechnic is situated in the capital city of Zamfara State. The school accepts passes for HND. Their admissions process is also easy for both indigenous and non-indigenous students. See courses offered in AGPOLY here.

17. ABRAHAM ADESANYA POLYTECHNIC.

Also known as AAPOLY, this institution is in Ogun State. They accept pass grades for HND. We’re certain that you can gain admission to full-time or part-time programs at AAPOLY with a CGPA below 2.50. See courses offered in AAPOLY here.

18. GAPOSA.

Gateway ICT Polytechnic is an NBTE-accredited polytechnic owned by the Ogun State Government. This school is very fast, especially their HND programs, and they accept a pass grade for HND admission. It is one of the easiest schools to gain admission to. Perhaps if you are a student from southern Nigeria with a CGPA below 2.50, you can apply for your HND programs at GAPOSA, and they will offer you admission. See courses offered in GAPOSA here.

19. KANO STATE POLYTECHNIC.

If you are looking for schools that accept pass grades for HND and are cheap and affordable, we personally recommend Kano Poly for you. This school is one of the best and most popular schools in Northern Nigeria. The school doesn’t conduct entrance examinations for HND candidates. 20. NIGER STATE POLYTECHNIC.

Niger Poly has a conducive environment for learning and accepts passes for HND. This may be one of the reasons why they always have a large number of applicants for their HND programs every year. See courses offered in Niger Poly here.

21. RAMAT POLYTECHNIC.

With one year of industrial training, Ramat Polytechnic in Maiduguri will offer you admission for HND with a CGPA below 2.50. Ramat Poly is owned by the Borno government. See courses offered in Ramat Polytechnic here.

22. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ADO-EKITI

Fedpoly Ado Ekiti accepts pass grades for their HND admission. The school offers admission on the condition that the candidate should possess two years of industrial training. Sometimes, ADOPOLY considers their product but may offer them a part-time (evening) program. If your CGPA is below 2.50, you can try the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti; you may be considered for admission if you’re their product, and if you are from another school, you need to buy their form as early as possible because FPA offers admission based on merit and “first come, first served.” See courses offered in ADOPOLY here.

23. ALL PRIVATE POLYTECHNICS.

I’ve been to some private polytechnics in Nigeria and also spoke with the school admission officers, where I was made to understand that they accept pass grades for HND admission. In fact, you don’t have to wait for two years or more to be considered. According to the stipulated policy for polytechnic education, you can only apply for HND admission a year after your National Diploma (ND), so after your IT, you can gain admission with your Pass grade to any private polytechnics in Nigeria. 24. DS ADEGBENRO POLYTECHNIC.

DS ICT Polytechnic is one of the four ICT polytechnics owned by the Ogun State government. This institution is located in the Itori-Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State. They also accept passes for HND admission. Whether you are a product of DSAP or not doesn’t matter; as long as you have two years of cognate experience, your admission is guaranteed. 25. OSPOLY IREE.

IREE POLY mostly favors their product above others when it comes to gaining admission with a pass grade. However, you will be offered admission only if you pass their entrance examination in addition to having had two years of I.T. See courses offered in OSPOLY here.

26. OSCOTECH ESA OKE.

You can further your education at Osun State College of Technology with a pass grade. The college accepts passes for HND admission, especially their DPT program. See courses offered in OSCOTECH here.

27. KADUNA POLYTECHNIC.

Gaining admission to Kaduna Poly is easy. They offer admission to candidates with a CGPA of 2.00 and above. This implies that they accept a pass for HND. Kaduna Poly offers different programs, so you may be offered admission to their evening program. See courses offered in KADPOLY here.

28. NUBA POLY.

Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic is in Zaria, Kaduna State. The school accepts passes for HND, though their school fees are expensive. See courses offered in NUBA POLY here.

29. OYSCATECH.

Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology is located at Igboora in Oyo State. The school accepts Pass for HND admission to both their full-time and part-time programs. So instead of wasting your resources on some schools you are not sure of, why not try OYSCATECH? See courses offered here.

30. OKE OGUN POLY.

Oke Ogun Poly is one of the four polytechnics in Oyo State. TOPS accepts pass grades for their HND programs. Provided you meet the necessary requirements for the National Diploma (ND) program, you may be considered for HND admission. See courses offered in TOPS here.

31. UNWANA POLY.

Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic is located at Unwanna in Ebonyi State. The school mostly favors its products who graduated with a pass, but sometimes they consider other students from recognized polytechnics with a pass for HND. See courses offered in UNWANA POLY here.

32. KENULE SARO WIWA POLY & CEA POLYTECHNIC

Kenule Saro Wiwa Polytechnic and Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic are located in Rivers State. They accept pass grades for HND admission. See courses offered in KENPOLY and CEA POLY here.

33. MOSHOOD ABIOLA POLY

Many students have always asked us if MAPOLY accepts passes for HND admission, and the answer is “YES.” Thus, if you desire to further your education in MAPOLY, you can apply for admission, but you must present evidence of two years of cognate experience to be considered for HND admission with a pass grade.
