Lens Poly Offa Makes History: Wins Quiz Competition Against Unilorin, Kwasu, Al-Hikmah

Lens Polytechnic Offa library and information science students have emerged as winners of the quiz competition organized by the National Association of Library and Information Science Students, Kwara State University Chapter on Wednesday, 21 January 2026.
The event featured some top higher citadels in Kwara State including Lens Polytechnic Offa, University of Ilorin, Kwara State University Malete and Al-Hikmah University.
The Lens Polytechnic was represented by Faloseyi Blessing, Ojerinde Anuoluwapo and Saliu Idris for the quiz competition, while Olarewaju Iyanuoluwa, Oluwayomi Timileyin emerged as the second runner-up in debate.
Faloluyi Blessing, one of the representatives, expressed excitement and gratitude for the unforgettable moments. “It’s a great opportunity to represent my institution today. We keep learning every day. We are the knowledge managers and information architects. We are proud of our institution, and bringing honor to the school remains our joy.
In her reaction, the Rector, Dr. Mrs. M. B Aliyu commended the students for their outstanding performance in the competition. She noted that Lens Polytechnic will continue to nurture students meritoriously for the national growth and development.
On his part, the Proprietor, Dr. Yisa Azeez FCA equally lauded the organisers of the competition for providing a great platform for academic excellence to thrive. He commended the Department of Library and Information Science for making the institution proud.
Also speaking, the Head of Department of Library and Information Science, Mr. Sheriff Banuso appreciated the management of Lens Polytechnic for providing a conducive environment for teaching and learning. He added that Lens Polytechnic Library and Information Department remains steadfast in continuous learning and developing future library professionals.
The quiz competition was organised to serve as a platform to promote academic excellence and enhance the reading culture among students of tertiary institutions.
