FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OF OIL AND GAS, BONNY HOLDS 2ND MATRICULATION CEREMONY
The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas (FPOG), Bonny, was in a celebration mood today as it held her 2nd Matriculation Ceremony for the 2021/2022 Academic Session.
The event, which took place at the Polytechnic’s auditorium, had in attendance, the Acting Rector, Mrs. Ibifiri Blessing Pollyn, and the Polytechnic Management Team, Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Hon. Alabota Anengi Barasua Dagogo-Wilcox, JP, represented by the Secretary to the Bonny Local Government Council, Amasenibo Hon. Ralph Sotonye Jamaica, representative of the Bonny Kingdom Titled Citizens Assembly (TCA), Amasenibo Dagogo Benstowe, Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Bonny Division, CSP James Ekpeta, represented by the Station Officer, NPF Bonny Division, ASP Samuel Ovuro, and the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Ebi Tapre, represented by Mr. Morrison Onamize.
Addressing the matriculants, Mrs. Ibifiri Blessing Pollyn, the Acting Rector, admonished them to be good representatives of their families and to take their studies seriously, while advising them to shun examination malpractices and cultism all through their stay in the institution.

The special guests also took turns to advise the students on the importance of Education. The Bonny LGA Chairman, in her speech, admonished the students to remember that this ceremony is just the matriculation which is the entering process into the institution, further stating that the important ceremony in the life of a student is the convocation.
Highlight of the occasion was the procession by the Principal Officers, Deans, School Officers and students which added more colour to the event
Some of the students interviewed expressed joy and gratitude to God for being counted worthy to matriculate and being admitted into one of the prestigious Polytechnics in Rivers State. They also promised to be of good behavior and take their studies seriously so as to make their parents proud and be good ambassadors of the school and Country.
