OKO POLY NASU DECLARES 2WEEKS STRIKE

The Non Academic staff Union (NASU), Federal polytechnic oko chapter has declared a two weeks warning strike with effect from Thursday 14th July 2022 over some of their key demands which are yet to be addressed by the school authority.
The decision to embark On strike was reached during the union emergency held today.
The union lamented that the school management had not taken the welfare of the Non academic staff seriously even after several consultations which yielded no positive results and this gave them no other choice than to proceed on the two (2) weeks warning strike to pressure for their demands from the school Management.
According to a statement issued at the end of the meeting, all the Non academic staff are to suspend work for the period of two weeks effective from 12am on Thursday 14th July 2022.
The statement reads, “Sequel to the emergency general congress of the Union held on Wednesday 13th July 2022, members deliberated exhaustively on our demands to Management bordering on staff welfare issues and unanimously resolved to embark on two (2) weeks warning strike with effect from Thursday 14th July 2022.
“In line with the above, all NASU members are directed to adhere strictly to this resolution as monitors will be on ground to ensure compliance “
