VIDEO: “Enough is Enough!” AKWAPOLY Students Protest Against Police Harassment
Protesters expressed frustration over arbitrary arrests, particularly targeting students using iPhones. “We can’t move freely anymore,” a student lamented. “If you own an iPhone, they assume you’re a criminal.”

Students of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic (AKWAPOLY) took to the streets today in a peaceful protest against alleged harassment by officers of the Ikot Ekpene Division of the Nigerian Police Force.
For years, students have complained about police brutality and insecurity in the polytechnic community. Despite multiple diplomatic efforts by the school management and the student union—including official letters and calls—the situation has reportedly worsened.
Protesters expressed frustration over arbitrary arrests, particularly targeting students using iPhones. “We can’t move freely anymore,” a student lamented. “If you own an iPhone, they assume you’re a criminal.”
Chanting slogans and holding placards, the students demanded an end to police intimidation on campus. They urged authorities to address their concerns and ensure a safe learning environment.
The protest remained peaceful, but students vowed to continue speaking out until real action is taken.
