ND Graduate Ojo Samuel Ayomide Emerges Overall Best Student at Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji

In a remarkable academic achievement, Ojo Samuel Ayomide, a National Diploma graduate from the Department of Electrical/Electronics Engineering at Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, has graduated with a distinction and emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student for the 2022/2023 academic session, earning an outstanding CGPA of 3.98.
Ayomide’s journey to excellence was marked by resilience, determination, and a series of personal sacrifices. After completing secondary school, he spent three years at home without admission, a period he described as one of the toughest in his life. “It was a challenging time, but I promised myself that when the opportunity came, I would give it my all,” he recalled.
His parents’ dedication and sacrifices—financially, emotionally, and spiritually—became his source of motivation. From the very first day of resumption each semester, Ayomide committed to strong academic habits. He maintained a strict reading timetable, attended every lecture, and studied past questions to understand the structure and pattern of his courses.
One major challenge he faced was assimilating lessons quickly. To overcome this, he studied immediately after class while the material was still fresh, read ahead before lectures, and used educational videos to strengthen his understanding.
Sacrifices were central to his achievement. Ayomide limited social outings and spent most of his time studying at home. He also organized tutorials for students in his department and others, a practice that reinforced his own knowledge while helping fellow students excel.
Reflecting on his success, Ayomide emphasized the role of faith and parental support. “The grace of God and my parents’ sacrifices carried me through difficult moments,” he said.
For students aspiring to achieve distinction, Ayomide offered practical advice: “No course is too difficult if you commit to understanding it. Take classes seriously, create a reading timetable, stay determined, and be willing to sacrifice your time.” He added, “I once prayed to be among the top 10, and today, God made me the overall best graduating student at Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji.”
Ayomide’s story serves as an inspiration for other students at Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji and beyond, demonstrating that determination, consistent effort, and faith can lead to extraordinary academic success.
