FUOYE Students Protest Extortion by Miscreants

The Students of the Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) on Monday protested over the persistent extortion of students by miscreants in the host community.
The students alleged that the miscreants who addressed themselves as “Egbon Adugbo” have been disturbing the University students for a while now without any intervention from security agencies and the leaders in the community.
The students union government who led the protest alleged that many students have lost their valuable properties to robbery in the University community, calling on the State Government and federal government to provide adequate security for them.
The SUG while addressing the press said: “We seize upon this hour to call on Ekiti State Government and the Federal Government to come to our aid and provide adequate security for over 30,000 students of Federal University Oye-Ekiti, as the community leaders and other concerned stakeholders, have lost total security control of the University host communities”
