FEDPOFFA Governing Council Resumes Work, Shares Vision with Polytechnic Leadership
The 7th Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, held its Inaugural meeting on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at the Polytechnic New Board Room. The Council members were received by the Polytechnic Management Committee members led by the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE.
Presiding over the meeting, Alh. Ojikutu described the visit as a deliberate measure to familiarise themselves with the Management Committee members and the entire Polytechnic community. He gave kudos to the Rector and the Management Committee for the courage and inventiveness with which they have kept the academic session soldering on.
While urging staff in attendance to brace-up for the journey ahead, he promised to work closely together with the Management Committee for a seamless blending of plans and policies. “I will lead from the front in raising the bar,” he added.
In his remarks, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin, FNSE, congratulated the new Council members on their well-deserved appointment and assured them of the cooperation and support of the Management. The Rector took the opportunity to highlight his achievements and visions, as well as the enormity of work that lies ahead to make the visions come to fruition. “I pledge my full support and dedication to working with the 7th Governing Council for the progress and success of this institution, and I pray that God will continue to be our ultimate support as we strive to elevate the Polytechnic to new heights,” he declared.

The Rector, immediately after the Inaugural session, led the Governing Council on a royal visit to the Palace of Olofa of Offa, his Royal Majesty, Oba Mufutau Muhammed Gbadamosi, Okikiola Ajagungbade I Esuwoye II.
Addressing the Kabiyesi and the High Chiefs, Alh. Ojikutu particularly commended the community, asking for its continued peaceful co-existence, saying the communal collaboration was now needed more than ever so as to advance the course of development. He solicited the community’s partnership to help execute some of the uncompleted projects and promised to engage major stakeholders across the nation with a view to achieving the purpose of placing FEDPOFFA on the global map.
In his Royal remarks, Olofa of Offa expressed delight for the visit. He described the host, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin as a man of impeccable character fit for the job of the Rector and promised the Council members of his continued support for the development of the Polytechnic.
The Chairman and other members were later accorded a guided tour of the Polytechnic. Areas toured included the Polytechnic Bakery as they made a brief stop-over at the Mini-campus security post to unveil and carry out the commissioning of a digital billboard, designed by the Directorate of Assembly Plant, Fabrications and Commercialization of Research Products (DAPFACORP). The team later had a drive around the Skill Development Centre and Water factory, the newly renovated Dr. Tunji Olagunju ICT Centre and a few other places on campus. The tour afforded the new Governing Council members an opportunity to see the state of facilities on ground at various locations in the Polytechnic.
The second day followed with a reception in honour of the 7th Governing Council as the members held a first ever meeting with the Polytechnic Congregation at the 1000 capacity auditorium in continuation of their familiarization session.
