Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Faces Disruption as Staff and Students Protest Road Conditions

Staff and students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, staged a protest on Monday over the deplorable state of the Ado-Ikere Road leading to the institution. The demonstrators blocked the road for several hours, causing disruption to traffic flow. They expressed concerns about the road’s condition, highlighting its impact on their safety and daily commute.
The protest aimed to draw attention to the plight of road users and urge the Federal Government to address the issue promptly. Various stakeholders, including the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, and Non-Academic Staff Union, participated in the protest, emphasizing the urgent need for road repairs.
The deteriorating road conditions have led to challenges for both commuters and vehicle owners, prompting calls for immediate action from the government. Afe Babalola, Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, also highlighted the road’s poor state, underscoring the need for a lasting solution.
