ASUP Chairman Assure Students of Possible Resumption as Warning Strike Commence

The two weeks warning strike as earlier declared by the national body of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has kick-started.
Speaking shortly after its Monday Congress, the ASUP Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi chapter, Mal. Jafar Ibrahim Dass, said academic activities are expected to resume immediately after the two weeks expires, pending further directives from the National Executive Council of the Union.
On his part, the President of the Students Union Government (SUG), Comr. Rabi’u Yakubu Galadima, called on Bauchi polytechnic Students to maintain calmness and pray for a positive response on the side of the Federal Government.

He called on Federal Government to prioritize education in Nigeria in order to avoid future destabilization of academic activities in public tertiary institutions across the country.
Galadima, however advised the Students especially those already in Bauchi, not to travel back home, but they should remain around as academic activities is said to continue immediately after the two weeks elapses.

Meanwhile, registration for newly admitted Students continues without any disruption.
